Proud to be a Gator #AltonaGators
This week we get a chance to celebrate two of our most talented junior players achievements. Cassidy Gould and Kobe King-Hawea are following in the famous foot steps of current Opal & Junior Gator Rachel Jarry.
Integral players in last years Championship winning Youth Womens team and this years U18 and Vic Youth Championship Womens team, it’s no surprise to the Gator family that these girls are stars of the Aussie future .
Both girls work exceptionally hard, pushing themselves and doing the extra training to be the best. Guided by their coach & Gator Director of Coaching Randy Shanklin, the girls have have continued to grow and develop.
It’s great for our Gator kids to see what can be achieved with hard work and the coaching from Altona can do. Good luck girls we are so proud of you :)
Kobe King-Hawea recently receiving a full scholarship to the Australian Institute of Sports Center of Excellence in Canberra..
This is an amazing opportunity for Kobe to further develop her skills and experience life as an elite basketballer. Kobe leaves us July to start her basketball journey in the ACT.
Cassidy Gould has been selected to represent Australia in the 2017 FIBA Oceania women’s Under-17 Championships in Hagatna, Guam from July 9-16.
Everyone at the Gators is extremely proud to see Cassidy rewarded for her hard work and dedication. Like Rachel Jarry before her Cassidy will be the second Gator junior to pull on the Green & Gold.
The Women’s team will be coached by experienced Adelaide 36ers assistant coach Tracy York. Both the Mens and Womens teams will assemble in Guam prior to the event for a mini-camp before contesting the championships against nations from throughout the Pacific.
