Teams Selected for FIBA Asia Under 18 3X3 Cup

A group of talented young athletes will continue Australia’s drive into the international 3x3 stage when a girls and boys team contest the FIBA Asia Under 18 3x3 Cup in Malaysia later this month.

The teams will travel to Cyberjaya, Malaysia to compete in the event, as Australia looks to build on the success of the Senior Women’s and Men’s teams in international events earlier this year.

Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence athlete Kian Dennis will combine with Seb Griffin (South Australia), Daniel Foster (Victoria) and Tasmanian Jacob Richards in the boys team in Malaysia.

Experienced development coach and Basketball Northern Territory High Performance Manager Rod Tremlett will coach the team after successfully guiding the NT Pro Hustle teams in 2019.

The Men’s team has length and versatility and is expected to be one of the elite defensive teams in the tournament.

Coach Tremlett was excited at the opportunity to coach at the 3X3 international level for the first time adding “It’s an huge honour to be selected to represent your country.  I am looking forward to working with the talented group of athletes that we have named in the team.  I am sure we will be very competitive and will certainly be striving to achieve the very best result possible for Australia.”
