The National Rugby League today announced that Nigel Roy has been appointed as the NRL NT’s General Manager. Nigel will start in his new role on Monday 22nd February.

Nigel is a well-respected member of the NRL community and brings a wealth of rugby league knowledge and experience to the position. Nigel played over 260 NRL and UK Super League games and has coached at club and junior state league level. He has worked for NRL NT as the Club and Competitions Coordinator since 2015.

NRL NT Chairperson Belinda Howie said that Roy is a passionate supporter and advocate of Rugby League in the Territory and we welcome him to the NRL NT role. “He will be working closely with all stakeholders including NT clubs, sponsors, media, the NT government, Parramatta Eels and the team at NRL Head Office to strategically grow the game across the Territory”.

The NRL NT 2016 calendar of events successfully kicked off last weekend with the Parramatta Eels vs Gold Coast Titans game at ANZAC Oval in Alice Springs. The Top End local season commences in April for juniors and seniors and the Eels and Titans go head to head again in Darwin on Saturday 11th June at TIO stadium.
