2016 Mylaps Transponder upgrade - we ask the question

RE: My Laps Transponders

The Upgrade is for MX Transponders to the MX X2 transponder. The benefits of these transponders are not going to really benefit MX riders simply because they require hardwiring into a battery on the vehicle in order to contract to 2-way communication....
2-way communication is not something that will be taking up within MX, considering most bikes don’t have batteries and the hardwiring of the transponder is a requirement of this.

Therefore, the only REAL benefit X2 Transponder owners will get over and above FLEX Transponder owners is the 4 hour charge time compared to 12+ hours with the old style transponder.

To change over, you need to:
· Purchase a new subscription
· Put onto the transponder
· Send the transponder into us
· We take the credit from the old transponder and place onto the new transponder.

We also asked the question about ongoing support and usability of the Flex transponder , below is the response

These will never simply ‘turn off’ or anything, as long as you keep renewing, they will have a full warranty and will work.

For more information, please contact our office, Laacey will be able to assist you.

Kind regards, hope this helps.
