TFV State Cup Fixture Changes

Hi Everyone,

As you are all aware the weather on Sunday will be extremely hot, with a forecast high of 37 degrees.

In accordance with the State Cup Conditions of entry and in line with TFA Extreme Weather policy, play must be stopped when the weather exceeds 36 degrees.

With participants and officials safety in mind, TFV have decided to amend the draw and bring the start time forward to 8:00am. This will allow TFV to be flexible throughout the day and if required add breaks into the competition if the weather does exceed 36 degree’s. Please note that the Bureau of Meteorology has forecasted a high of 37 degrees across greater Melbourne which does not give a specific indication of Elwood Park, which may be cooler given its location. If breaks do occur during the day we may need to extend past the new allocated finish time of 5:35pm, to ensure participants receive the best value for money and all matches are played.

We do acknowledge that a number of teams will be traveling long distances for the event, I have tried my best to reallocate the fixtures to insure that the 8:00am start doesn’t impede too many teams.

Please find attached an updated fixture grid for the competition.

If you have any issues regarding TFV’s decision please do not hesitate to contact the TFV office.

We apologise for the inconvenience that this may have caused, but we hope that this notification would have helped to amend travel and that the management of safety concerns are understood.

Kind Regards

Troy Rolle
