Teaching Game Sense workshop with Dr Dennis Slade - 31 March

The use of Teaching Games for Understanding (TGfU) is an increasingly successful way to coach, engage & develop thinking athletes.

Netball Central Zone have kindly enlisted one of the best to share his valuable knowledge in this area - Dr Dennis Slade will facilitate a Teaching Game Sense workshop in Wellington for community coaches.

Sunday 31st March
11am-1pm
ASB Sports Centre, 72 Kemp Street, Kilbirnie, Wellington
Cost: $20.

This practical session outlines how to teach players game structure & test understanding using modified games. Observe Dennis’ unique approach as he turns a team sport into a computer game format where teams complete ‘missions’ & players manipulate rules in order to achieve success. Learnings can be applied across all team sporting codes (not just netball!) and appeal to beginner as well as experienced athletes no matter what age.  Don’t miss this effective way to tap into current youth interests & fully engage players.

All welcome! Limited spaces - register promptly here: www.sporty.co.nz/viewform/92816

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
