2019 NWC Year 9, U15 & U17 Rep Trial nominations now open!

In 2019 the Netball Wellington Centre intends to offer the opportunity for players to trial for selection in one Year 9 team, two Under 15 and two Under 17 representative age grade teams (dependent on available talent at trials).  Yet more opportunity to don the black and yellow dress and represent our Netball Wellington Centre!

In order to name five strong teams for our Year 9, U15 and U17 age groups we seek a large pool of talented players from which to select.  Trials provide a great experience for keen players to grow and learn under some fantastic coaches alongside other really strong players.  We strongly encourage all Senior A & B and Junior A & B team members to nominate yourselves with any netballers who feel they possess the appropriate skill level and motivated attitude to put your name forward and give it your best shot.

Trial eligibility:
* Must be in Year 9 or aged under 15 or under 17 years of age as at 1st January 2019
* Must currently be registered, fully financial (all fees prior to 2019 paid up in full) and actively playing for a current school or club affiliated to the 2019 Netball Wellington Centre Winter Competition played on Saturdays at either the ASB Sports Centre or Hataitai Netball Courts.

Trial conditions:
As each of the five netball centres within the Wellington region (Netball Wellington Centre, Netball Hutt Valley Centre, Kapi Mana Netball Centre, Netball Kapiti and Netball Wairarapa) intend to select their own Year 9, Under 15 and Under 17 teams in 2019 there will be no dispensations granted to trial for another centre.

The sole exception is for individuals who are allowed to play Winter Competition within two netball centres (eg, school team vs club team).  In this instance, following non-selection at their first choice of centre, a player may decide to trial for their alternative netball centre of their own free will.  Dispensation is not required.

Trialists must trial for their relevant age group as at 1st January 2019.
Trialists may not trial for a higher age group unless dispensation has been specifically granted by the Netball Wellington Centre General Manager.  Year 9s are therefore expected to trial for the Year 9 team and shall not be considered for Under 15 trials.

Tuesday 9th April 2019 from 6pm to 8pm - final call-backs

All trials are held at the Hataitai Netball Courts, 43 Ruahine Street, Hataitai, Wellington.

Inability to attend all trial dates:
The reality is that inability to attend all trial dates can disadvantage trialists.  With this in mind and to ensure you get the best chance to be observed, we strongly recommend that you please make every effort to make yourself available to attend ALL trials for your age group. Please be sure to indicate any absences clearly using the NOTES field within the form and provide a clear reason why so as to avoid unfairly disadvangtaging yourself.  This will be provided to our NWC Selection Panel and allow due consideration to be given to the best of their abilities in your absence.

In special circumstances a dispensation may be granted to those who provide a valid reason for missing one or more trials. If seeking dispensation please email an outline of your valid reason for absence to admin@netballwellington.co.nz.  Any dispensations will be granted at the discretion of our NWC General Manager and Selection Panel Members
