Helpful tips for completing the nomination form
Writing an outstanding nomination is easy, especially when you know how - which is why we've put together a guide.

Rather than rushing through it at the last minute, allow yourself some time to complete the form, check your facts, and give your nominee the best chance of success.  Know their achievements locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally (if applicable) and tell us, why does your nominee deserve to be a winner?

Ensure that the achievements highlighted are within the ‘achievement period’ of between 17 April 2018 to 17 April 2019.

This year we are once again using an online nomination portal. You can select one of two portals for each nomination you make which has a series of questions specific to that category - one portal is for nominations recognising achievements of the Sportsman, Sportswoman, Coach, Team, Disabled Sportsperson, Emerging Sportsman, Emerging Sportswoman and Official categories. The other is for making nominations for Clubs, Volunteers and Leaders who have made a positive impact on their community. The great thing about this system is that you can save and come back to it should you need to get more information/have someone else review the nomination.

Nominations close on 29 April, so make sure you get started on your nominations now - it's a great way to acknowledge all of their hard work and effort!  Click on the button below for tips on what the judges are looking for.

Making a difference through leadership
The Trish McKelvey Leadership Award, supported by Outward Bound, is open to any individual who has provided outstanding leadership in the sport and active recreation sector within the qualifying period.

• Only individual nominations will be accepted
• The nominee may be an administrator, coach, official, player, or combination of these
• Volunteers / amateurs and paid staff / professionals are eligible
• The nominee will have demonstrated leadership qualities which ‘made a difference’
• Qualities such as developing the culture of the team they are part of, building trust and relationships, modelling the team’s values and providing clear direction and purpose through their leadership are all factors which will be considered by the judges.

The winner of this award receives a registration onto the Outward Bound 5-day Professional course (valued at $3,950). This is a fantastic prize that provides real benefit to both your personal and professional development.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
