2016 Mungga-Iri Community Knockout Competition Information

The competition is a one day carnival providing 3-4 rounds of competition prior to the finals series. The event will now be held on Saturday, 27 February 2016 at the Amaroo (no longer at Raiders Belconnen and the Kippax playing fields). All round and semi-final games will run for 25 minutes and be in the touchdown turnaround format. 3 points will be awarded for the first touchdown, with 2 points awarded for each additional touchdown.

The Grand Final games will run for 25 minutes and be in the touchdown turnaround format. Touchdowns will be worth 1 point in the final. In the event of a draw, teams will play in a drop-off.

Mixed and Men’s Divisions will be offered.

The competition will start with a Welcome to Country and Smoke Ceremony at 8:45am and games will start at 9:30am. The grand finals are expected to be played at 2:30pm for Mixed Division and 3:00pm for the Men’s Division.

Prize money for the winning teams in the divisions will be offered. The amount of prize money will be determined once the team nominations are finalized.

Where the applicant is under 18 years of age the Online Team Nomination must be completed by the applicant's parent or legal guardian..

N.b Mungga-Iri translates to mean 'touch' in the traditional language of the Ngunnawal/Ngambri people.
