ACT Player Selection: NRL Touch Premiership
Four ACT Touch superstars have been selected in the 2018 NRL Touch Premiership. 6 NRL clubs will enter both Men’s and Women’s teams into the Touch Premiership which will play Touch Football games as curtain-raisers to NRL games.
Three NRL clubs from New South Wales, and three clubs from Queensland, will have teams: the Parramatta Eels, Wests Tigers, Newcastle Knights, Gold Coast Titans, Brisbane Broncos and North Queensland Cowboys.
ACT players selected in the squads are: Bec Beath (Parramatta Eels), Rob McCarthy, Sophie Broadhead and Elise Wilson (Newcastle Knights).
Touch Football ACT are proud of the players being selected in each NRL Touch squad with all 6 clubs being NSW or QLD based. Mitchell Kent, ACT’s Business Development Manager stated, “it is a great step forward with our local Canberra players being recognised as elite players gaining selection in the NRL Touch Premiership”.
“It proves the ACT has a great touch development system in place with the players being selected in these squads. No other Alliance State was fortunate to be selected in the squads, and I believe it demonstrates the hard work and dedication our ACT players put into the game” says Mitchell Kent.
The NRL Touch Premiership games will be broadcast nationally, as a mix of live and delayed broadcasts.
A 30-minute men’s game and a 30-minute women’s game will be played prior to the main rugby league event, tapping off from the NRL’s Round 11 on Friday 18th May 2018.
