Last Year: 3 wins, 12 losses- 5th

Roster: Georgia Bishop-Cash, Jasmine Clarke, Ella Sabljak, Kaia Scholl, Melanie Hall, Gemma Buchholz, Ashley Wardman, Alison Mosely, Kirsty Bishop.

The only team not to feature in Round 1, the Comets will have to wait until May 5 to hit the court in 2017 but that is still a weekend in which they only play three games. With the finals to be played in Brisbane, they will be hoping to improve on last season and reach the post-season with a home crowd push sure to help them out in that situation.

After they managed just three wins last season, the Comets enter this campaign without their top four scorers from 2016 including Shelley Cronau who was also their leader in assists. Ella Sabljak and Georgia Bishop-Cash will be their go-to players at the offensive end but they should receive strong support from the likes of Alison Mosely, a two-time Paralympic medallist in 2000 and 2004 and Ashley Wardman who should have a larger role within the team after her debut season. Experience will be a key concern for the Comets heading into this campaign but they will be led by David Gould who has been named as the new head coach for the Australian Gliders.

One To Watch:
Looming as their most important player heading into 2017, Sabljak has international experience with the Under-25 Australian team and averaged 4.6 points and 5.4 rebounds while shooting 29% from the field last year. She doubled her point production in 2015 and will be looking to make a similar jump this season to help return the Comets back into the finals.

Missing Playoffs.
