Fixture:
The Stars are thrown into the deep end at the beginning of the season, playing three games within the first 24 hours of Round 1 before hosting home games in Round 3.
Overview:
Much the same team that finished Runner-Up last season, the Stars have been bolstered by the addition of Kitada, a Japanese national player. She will have settled into Australian life thanks to a season with the Wheelcats in the NWBL where she has played 13 games.
Alongside her will be Gliders Vinci, Alexander, Inglis and Merritt with Vinci coming off her most productive offensive season in 2015 when she averaged 10.9 points.
One To Watch:
While Vinci will be a concern at the offensive end for opposition teams, Merritt is the player to watch on this Stars team. She led the league last year with 30 points a game, scoring at least 16 every contest while tallying 13 double-doubles in 19 games. Her performances have also aided the Wheelcats make the playoffs in the NWBL, averaging 10.7 points per game in that league.
