The second consecutive player from the Sydney University Flames to win the award this season, Annabelle Lindsay has taken out the honours for Round 2 after leading the club to four straight wins over the weekend.

She averaged 17.5 points, 12 rebounds and four assists as well as 2.3 steals per contest in a complete showing at both ends of the court.

Her performances this season have helped the Flames to an eight-point edge on top of the ladder after two rounds and in combination with Sarah Stewart they are developing into one of the strongest combinations in the league.

Lindsay had an inauspicious start to the round when Sydney Uni took care of Kilsyth on Friday night, collecting nine points, six rebounds and four assists.

Her presence was felt at the defensive end though in 24 minutes, recording a steal and a block as well which helped her club secure 20 points off turnovers in a 20-point win.

She controlled the paint in their second game against the Comets, tallying a double-double of 21 points, ten boards and three steals.

Her five offensive rebounds were a game-high as the Flames out-scored their opponents 28-0 in second chance points and she did all that work in just 26 minutes.

Later that night, Lindsay was on song again as Sydney Uni defeated Red Dust by 34 points.

She finished with a second straight double-double (18 points, ten rebounds) to go with four assists and four steals while she shot 9-16 from the field in another trademark efficient performance.

Lindsay then exploded in the final game of the round, playing 37 minutes and completely owning the glass to record 22 points and 22 rebounds, a performance which has now placed her first for average boards in the league.

She shot 10-19 from the field and tallied seven assists which saw her directly involved in 36 of the Flames’ 73 points as they defeated inter-state rivals, Sydney Metro Blues.

Eight offensive boards also helped the team to 13 second chance points while another steal and block capped off a strong defensive weekend as well.

Annabelle Lindsay Round 2 Stats: 17.5 points on 32-61 (52%) shooting, 12 rebounds (4.3 offensive), four assists and 2.3 steals per game.
