2017 Victorian Schools Championships launched!

Victorian School Champs 2017

Following consultation, discussion and an internal review, TFV is excited to advise that we have overhauled our Victorian Schools Competition.  The change to the 2017 structure has occurred to reduce travel time for schools which we hope will allow engagement with an increased number of schools across Victoria.  This year, TFV will deliver 3 regional and 3 metro based 1-day events held across Victoria in specifically chosen locations to further align with our existing affiliated club networks Schools have the opportunity to enter more than one day and more than one event.

What if i have never played Touch Football as a school?

Touch Football will provide 1 FREE hour session for each school that puts in a side.

Can I compete in more than one event?

Regional Schools can compete in more than one event. Metro schools can compete in more than one day but they have to nominate accordingly.

As a school can I nominate for any competition?

Yes schools can apply for any event you don’t need to stick within a location that is closest to you and you can nominate more than one competition.

What divisions are present?

Like previous years, the Western Metro and South Eastern Metro U15’s and U18’S divisions will be further broken down into Plate and Championships events.

Plate divisions are for teams that would consider themselves beginners, or relatively new to the sport of Touch Football. It is a development / participation division.

Championships divisions are for schools that have been involved for a few times. Championships divisions are suitable for schools who have competed for a number of years and have players who have a good understanding of the game and skill level.

How many teams contribute to a division?

We will be looking to have 4 teams minimum to contribute to a division to make it eligible.

Can a school enter more than one team?

Schools can enter as many teams as they wish per divisions, within the Championship divisions we will look at having one team per school.

NOTE: For regional divisions there is only one division. If there are enough teams we will look to split into Championships and Plate.

What happens if I win the division however can’t attend the Finals date?

If this occurs, we will just ask the 3rd placed side to be available.

What are the costs to compete?

The $240 per team inclusive of GST. Teams who are able to contribute a Non playing student referee will be charged $210 per team inclusive of GST.  The referee must be a student from your school (no old boys) who referees the entire day.

Prices include GST.

Regional events the cost is $60.50 per team including GST. This has been heavily subsidised thanks to the generosity of support from Sport and Recreation Victoria with a view to gaining additional participants in regional locations.

The Friday May 5th event will be FREE for all schools who qualify.
