The 2018 Victorian School Championships Go West

The sun was shining, and the music was pumping, as 26 sides from 11 schools fought it out for Under 15 and Under 18 championships.

Teams from as far afield as Gippsland and the Eastern and South Eastern extremities of the city made the trek to Keilor East. When play eventually got underway after a delay caused by Melbourne's notorious traffic, the players exhibited some fantastic Touch Football, once again showing that age and a lack of experience are no barrier to playing.

Tournaments like the Victorian School Championships can't go ahead without the cooperation and committment of many different people. Thanks to all the players, who conducted themselves admirably throughout the day, and thanks to all the schooll staff, coaches and parents who helped get their schools to where they needed to be.

Thanks must also go to the referees, who put in long hours without waivering across the event.

The Victorian School Championships continues to grow, and we look forward to the event growing further in the years to come.
