Congratulations to Scott Lycett, a key part of the 2018 West Coast Eagles premiership team. Scott is the son of Ron Lycett, the coach of Wudinna United A Grade in 2018. Ron and wife Karen will feel very proud.
Scott played for Thevenard in the Far West FL prior to moving to Adelaide to pursue his football career, initially via Port Adelaide. He played a vital role in the ruck for the Eagles, setting up his midfielders and nulifying Collingwood all Australian ruckman Brody Grundy. He played all 25 games for the Eagles this season, generally in the ruck, but also heading forward from time to time.
The Lycett family were on hand to witness one of the best AFL grand finals in the modern era.
Scott is one of the two Eyre Peninsula connections at the Eagles, the other being Luke Partington who debuted in 2017 and is part of the Eagles next generation.
