SKIPTON fan Norma Graham got to experience the Lexton Plains Football League holy grail first-hand yesterday.
The 88-year-old, a resident at Ballarat's Nazareth House, has been an avid supporter of the Emus for most of her life and was shown the 2009 premiership cup in her room yesterday.
Graham has a long association with the club, with late husband Reg, son John, father Bill Sturgeon and brother Bill Sturgeon junior all pictured in a photograph of the club's 1949 grand final loss to Carngham in the Linton-Carngham Football Association.
Carngham won the match by one point.
Graham, who keeps a close eye on proceedings throughout the season, said she was thrilled to hear that the Emus won the 2009 flag over enemy Carngham-Linton.
"I was just absolutely delighted," Graham said.
