Gordon account for Daylesford

After a very even first half featuring goals by both sides into a three goal wind Gordon blew the first semi final open with a five goal third quarter with the wind to lead by 37 points at the final change.

Daylesford attacked hard throughout the final term but inaccuracy prevented them from getting close enough to worry Gordon.

The Eagles eventually triumphed by 21 points and now play Springbank on Sunday 4th September in the second Preliminary final.

Hepburn become a genuine premiership contender

After struggling to defeat other top eight contenders all year, Hepburn with three devastating quarters against Bungaree become a real threat to others in the premiership race.

Five goals down at quarter time the Burras only allowed another six goals for the match and added 16 of their own.

Andy and Mitch McKay turned the game on its head in the second quarter. Michael Watts continued his great form in the ruck.

Bungaree finished third after the home and away and after two losses are straight out of the finals.

Buninyong will need to be at their best on Saturday to stop Hepburn.
