Sheralee Gormley (2009)

Sheralee ‘Shez’ Gormley, player and administrator of SA Defence Basketball and ADF Basketball.
A hard working, determined and strong player, Sheralee was a consistent shooter with her favoured mid-range jumpshot. Combined with being a hard-nosed rebounder she was an opponent of high regard. Off court she had great endeavour as a diligent Manager doing all the little things that make a trip special and enjoyable. In her tenure she ensured sponsorship, fundraising, team uniforms and administration were organised to foster growth in the program and was fundamental to the professionalism of SADB.

Shez first Played Combined in 1986 for NSW. Then for SA over period 1996 to 2002, 2004 and 2007. Played on ADFBA Masters team in 2008. Selected as player for the Australian Team in 1993 and from 1997 toured with the Australian Team as Manager. In 1999, she was awarded the Major Gregory John ‘Frenchie’ MacDougall award for her spirited contributions to ADF Basketball. A person who has given immense value to the ADFBA and SADB.


Sheralee Gormley (2nd inductee) was inducted into the SADB Hall of Fame on Fri 17 Jul 2009 by President FLGOFF Laine Pearce at the SA Inter-Service Basketball Tournament. In recognition of Sheralee being the inaugural female inductee into the SADB Hall of Fame, the Inter-Service Women's MVP Trophy will be awarded commencing 2009, known as the 'Shez Gormley MVP Trophy.
