Former Director of WADA's European Regional Office Joins Staff For Upcoming World Baseball Classic
(LAUSANNE, Switzerland) - The International Baseball Federation (IBAF) today announced that they have named Jean-Pierre Moser as their new Anti-Doping Manager. Moser, who joins the IBAF after serving as Director of the European Regional Office for the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), will be responsible for overseeing all the implementation and procedure for compliance before and during the upcoming World Baseball Classic, which begins in four cities (Tokyo, Mexico City, San Juan and Toronto) on March 5 and concludes in Los Angeles, California USA on March 23.
"We are very pleased that Jean-Pierre Moser, one of the most highly respected officials in the anti-doping industry, has agreed to fill this critical role for the sport of baseball," said IBAF President Dr. Harvey Schiller." "Baseball as a sport has made great strides in the past few years with regard to drug testing, and having someone of Jean-Pierre's ability on board as we enter the World Baseball Classic again reaffirms how serious the sport is with regard to WADA compliance."

Moser served as Director of the European Regional Office for WADA from February 2006 until November 2008, overseeing, educating and promoting WADA policy and projects amongst European and Olympic governing bodies. Prior to joining WADA, he was the Financial Director for the International Motorcycling Federation for over ten years, overseeing all the financial policy, implementation and accounting for the federation. He has an extensive background in finance and policy implementation, and has a graduate degree in Sport Management from Universite Claude Bernard in France.
An avid runner and motor cycle enthusiast, Moser and his family reside near Lausanne.
