You spoke, we're listening...Member survey summary
We'd like to thank everyone who took the time to respond to our 2019 member survey. With 68 respondents, this speaks directly to the passion that exists within our association. It's fair to say, not all feedback was a glowing endorsement of the current state of our association.
Over the past two years, "Basketball" has played a back seat with internal fighting and politics being a more prominent feature of the association than anyone would care for. I think we can all agree that this has not been a healthy pursuit, most of all for the young kids and enthusiastic adults who just want to play the sport they love.
We've included a document which reviews how the association fared in key areas, along with a selection of written responses that were representative of common sentiment. From there we've also drawn out some key themes that will be addressed through our strategic planning workshops that we will be running through May, June, and July.
One thing that came through was that 'Batemans Bay Basketball' was often referenced as an entity who should do 'this' or 'that'. Batemans Bay Basketball is its members. It is not a stand alone entity. As such, any positive change that that the association experiences, will only happen with buy-in from all members.
It will take time to address some of the issues highlighted through this survey, but with the right buy-in we will get there. We have a great committee and a enthusiastic community, and a sport that with the right level of nurture could easilly become the sport of choice for Eurobodalla.
Once again, thankyou for taking the time to share your thoughts, and we look forward to building a better basketball association with you into the future.
