Mixed results for U/14s at Barrengarry Conference

After a successful round 1 of the U/12 Barrengarry Conference last weekend for the Breakers the U/14 Boys and Girls squads were ready to go on Sunday for their first games of the Representative Basketball season

.The U/14 Boys had an early start having to travel to Moss Vale but this did not affect their performance. The Batemans Bay Red team came away with wins over Kiama, Moss Vale and Moruya while the Teal team won 2 out of their 3 with wins over Wollindili, Illawarra and one loss to a strong Shoalhaven side.

Coach Geoff Armstrong was pleased with the boys and said it was great for Batemans Bay to have a large pool of kids in his training squad. Entering 2 teams in this tournament gives all the kids a chance to participate and improve.

The U/14 Girls had their round at home at the Rock. They faced an experienced pool of teams finding Camdan Valley, Illawarra and Moss Vale all too hard to beat this time round. For most in this squad it was the first time participating in this kind of competition and the girls came away with lots of ideas on how to work on their game. Coach Sarah Bourke and Parents were all very proud of the girls and their efforts for the day.

Always a big thankyou is extended to the Referees who represent our club at these events. Graham Edwards, Maddy Bender and Nikki Lawarick. did a wonderful job officiating throughout the day.
