2019 Adam Lees Cup to be decided this weekend

The 2019 Adam Lees Cup will be decided over this weekend, with the Men's Division 1 (Leg 3) and the Men's Premier League (Leg 4), taking place on Friday and Sunday respectively. The Parramatta Eels currently hold a 2-0 Lead in the ALC due to winning the Women's Division 1 (Leg 1) and Boys Youth League (Leg 2) earlier in the 2019 Vawdon Cup.

The Adam Lees Cup is an annual event held between Parramatta and Western Suburbs Touch Association during the Vawdon cup series. And it's simple the club with the most victory wins the Cup, if it is a drawn event then the holders will retain. Adam Lees was an 17 year old young man who's life was cut short cut due to an extreme accident in 2016. Adam was a current Wests Representative players who played Jnr Comps at both Wests and Parramatta and was a absoslute die hard Parramatta Eels NRL supporter.

After the tragic event Parramatta President Rod Hetherington and Wests Head Coach Tony Trad came up with the plan to honour Adam and help his family move on but also help boths clubs move forward and never forget Adam and what sort of young man he was. That is the the ALC was born and will continue long into the future. In it's inaugural year (2017) both clubs helped raise money to support the family in it's most difficult time and to cover the funeral cost. From 2018 and beyond boths clubs now play for pride and to ensure that Adam's memory lives on.

Parramatta President Rod Hetherington stated "This is a great event every year and both clubs really get behind the event and no matter how the teams are travelling all these games are extremely tight." Wests Head Coach Tony Trad said "We make sure all players at Wests remember when these games are on and push to get as many supporter to each contest and this weekend will be no different esepcially when we need results to retain the trophy."
