In Memorium - Adam Lees 1999-2016
At 17 years of age Adam was making his way in his Touch footballing career pathway, having been selected in the Australian U/17's squad, on the verge of being named in the NSWTA Under 18...'s Development Team squad, as well have having represented the Sydney Mets Touch Football and his home club, the Western Suburbs Magpies. He was a young man on the move, with sharply rising stock as a player of the future for his club, his region, his state and his country.
While a rapidly developing player, Adam was more importantly a genuine young man who's zest for life touched and infected all he came into contact with. Whether that was at his beloved Magpies, the Mets or members of the touch community, it was hard not to like the young man. He even managed to convince the Scottish Mixed Open team to allow him to be their "hydration officer" at the 2015 World Cup and his passing has saddened our friends from Scotland who have already sent messages of support.
He was a fine young man who is gone too soon and who will be sorely missed by the Touch Footballing community.
