2018 Southern Sports Academy Basketball Nominations Now Open
The Academy is now calling for nominations for the 2018 Wagga Rules Club Basketball Program. The nomination forms for the 2018 squad need to be returned to the Academy by Thursday 12th October 2017.
This year, as part of the selection process, all intending nominees must be available to attend trials at the Bolton Park Stadium, Wagga Wagga on Sunday 22nd October 2017.
To be eligible for consideration, nominees must have been born in 2002 - 2005 (aged 13, 14, 15 or 16 in 2018).
All scholarship holders will participate in an ongoing program of intensive coaching covering all aspects of their sport. This program will include specific workshops in practical skill training, fitness testing, strength and conditioning advice, nutrition and hydration principles, recovery strategies and sports medicine advice.
Athletes will also attend personal development workshops designed to assist them with issues off the sporting field.
