ROAD TO TAOYUAN AND BACK AGAIN - Support the Goannas get to the Asia Pacific Deaf Games

As many Australian representatives in any sport will attest to, a big part of playing in the Green and Gold includes fundraising and seeking financial or in-kind donations to aid in getting themselves to an international tournament.

It is no different, and perhaps a lot more challenging this time around - the Australian deaf mens basketball team, the Goannas are embarking on an ambitious and life-defining 4 months shortly - attending the World Deaf Basketball Championships in July 2015, and 4 months later, representing Australia at the Asia Pacific Deaf Games, both in Taoyuan, Chinese Taipei (Taiwan).

These opportunities do not come very often, and the team is seeking support from family, friends and acquaintances far and wide in raising funds for the team to attend the Asia Pacific Deaf Games, where the team are in a very strong position to do what has never been done before in Deaf Basketball Australia's history - win a GOLD!

There are a number of ways you can show your support of the Goannas on their quest for GOLD:

- Donate to their GoFundMe page and get updates on their progress towards the Asia Pacifics

- Come along to their Sportsmen's Night on 16th May 2015 that will feature a number of former AFL and NBL personalities plus some very desirable items being auctioned

- Follow their progress by liking the Australian Goannas Deaf Basketball Team page

Your support will be truly appreciated as the team of 15 ball on the road to Taoyuan!

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.

Where will the Goannas finish at the 2015 World Deaf Basketball Championships?
