ROAD TO SOFIA - Goannas visit Richmond Football Club

On Monday 10th of March, 2013, the Australian Men’s Deaf Basketball Team aka The Goannas had the privilege of a guided tour of the Richmond Football Club. The Goannas are currently ranked 13th in the World and are off to the Deaflympics to be held in Sofia, Bulgaria in July/ August 2013.

We were privileged to have Tim Livingstone, Richmond’s Coaching & Development Manager to give us a tour and talk about how the Tigers prepare their weekly routines.

After spending most of the weekend at our training camp, talking and practising preparation, structure, defence, and recovery we were impressed to see that these important components of successful team sports were reinforced by our tour of the Richmond Football Club..

Deaf Basketball Australia and the Goannas would like to thank Tim Livingstone, Dale Weightman and the Richmond Football Club for taking time out of their busy schedule to make this happen. It was an experience for the Goannas to see that our Key Performance Indicators are much the same as the Richmond Football Club.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.

Where will the Goannas finish at the 2015 World Deaf Basketball Championships?
