Wagner returns for Redbacks Men

The Texture WA Perth Redbacks are excited to announce that club stalwart and Championship winning Captain Joel Wagner is returning for 2019.

With over 300 games of SBL, Wagner adds an experienced presence to an exciting young team compiled by Head Coach Nik Lackovic.

"Three words spring to mind whenever I have the privilege of coaching one of the leagues greatest leaders and point guards, Loyalty, Family and Club" said Lackovic.

"Joel returns for another season excited about the challenge that lies ahead for us this season and I couldn’t think of a better example of a warrior to go to battle with."

"A true club man that cares deeply about our program and values the club and family culture we have. A selfless competitor that understands what it takes to win ever night with a relentless attitude and desire."

As a club junior who has NBL experience with both the Perth Wildcats and Sydney Kings, the club is excited to see Wagner continuing and guiding our SBL team for another season.

The SBL season starts this Saturday night with the annual Len Vlahov Memorial Game this year against the Warwick Senators. Tip off is 6:00pm (WSBL) and 8:00pm (MSBL) at Belmont Oasis.

All WABL teams are reminded that we will be hosting our 2019 WABL Launch as well inbetween the games on court one.
