MSBL Players of the Week - Rnd 4

THE week four Men’s SBL Player of the Week has been awarded to Kevin Davis of the Magicorp East Perth Eagles.

Following a slow start to the season, Davis exploded for back-to-back ‘double -doubles’ during the Eagles’ week four games against the Perth Redbacks and his former team the Joondalup Wolves.

The first came on Friday night in a tough loss against the league leading Redbacks, where Davis poured in game-highs of 29 points and 17 rebounds while matching up against retired Wildcat star Shawn Redhage. Additionally, Davis’ field goal percentage was a remarkable 80%, going 12 of 15 for the game.

Davis then backed up his strong performance the following night against the team he helped reach two SBL Grand Finals and win the 2015 SBL Championship with, the Joondalup Wolves. Playing with something to prove, Davis again led all players with 26 points and 13 boards and shooting a flawless 8/8 from the free-throw line, handing the Wolves their first loss of the 2017 season.

With the Eagles splitting their pair, they are now a game clear in fifth on the SBL Ladder and set up an exciting contest this Thursday away against the third placed Willetton Tigers. The game puts Kyle Armour up against his 2014 Championship team, while the Davis/Turner matchup is sure to turn heads.
