MSBL Player of the Week - Rnd 3

THE week three Men’s SBL Player of the Week has been awarded to Jacob Holmen of the Silver Lake Resources Goldfields Giants.

After a horror run of injuries to start SBL season 2017, the Goldfields Giants found themselves 0-3 after the first two rounds and in desperate need of a win.

Fortunately for the Giants, their star player and Captain, Jacob Holmen returned from a hamstring injury in spectacular fashion with a player of the week performance recording 37 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 blocks to lead his team to a convincing 100 to 69 win over the Mandurah Magic at Neils Hansen Basketball Stadium on Saturday night.

Holmen completely dominated the contest with an all-round performance including 6-3PM while restricting the inform Taylor Mullenax to 18 points and Magic import forward Ricky Kreklow to just 6pts for the game.

With an in-form Jacob Holmen at his arsenal, rookie coach Lou Causer will feel confident heading to Perth this weekend to take on the Kalamunda Eastern Suns before facing the Willetton Tigers when we will see Holmen up against the 2015 MVP, Ray Turner who also made an impressive return over the weekend with 32 points and 20 rebounds against the Buccs in Geraldton.
