MSBL Player of the Week

THE week fifteen Men’s SBL Player of the Week has been awarded to Trevor Setty of the Mandurah Magic.

It was a game to remember for Trevor Setty on Saturday night at Mike Barnett Sports Complex as he led his team to victory over the Lakeside Lightning in more ways than one.

Setty was unstoppable all night finishing with a massive 45 points and 12 rebounds coming from seven makes from beyond the arc.

Down by one point with 0.57 seconds left on the clock, Tom Remmerswaal inbounded the ball to Trevor Setty who found himself at around quarter court and managed to beat the buzzer over two Lakeside players which hit nothing but net and won the Magic the game 104 to 102.

The win capped off an amazing night for Setty which also took the Magic off the foot of the table and kept their playoff hopes alive as they are now three wins behind the top eight.

It has been a tough few months for the Magic particularly since losing Taylor Mullenax with a serious injury, however Setty has been a great acquisition this year, averaging 23.8 points and 9.6 rebounds per game.

Mandurah now face the Perth Redbacks in a must win game at Belmont Oasis Leisure Centre on Friday night.
