2016 Molten Waratah League Format Announced

This 2016 Molten Waratah League Formats have been confirmed and released

Divisions 

  • Championship Men (CM)
  • Championship Women (CW)
  • Division 1 Men (D1M)
  • Division 1 Women (D1W)
  • Division 1 Youth Men (D1YM)
  • Division 1 Youth Women (D1YW)
  • Division 2 Youth Men (D2YM)

The Championship Men's division consists of 11 teams who will play a home and away series with the top 6 teams progressing to the finals.

The Championship Women's division consists of 9 teams who will play home and away series with the top 4 teams progressing to the finals.

The Division 1 Men's competition will consists of 24 teams, playing in 3 pools.

  • Pool A (South & West) will play 14 x games as a home and away series.
  • Pool B (Northern) will play 12 x games as a home and away series.
  • Pool C (Metro) will play 16 x games as a home and away series.

Top 2 teams from each pool will advance straight to the quarter finals.  The teams who finish 3rd in Pool A, 3rd in Pool B, 3rd in Pool C and 4th in Pool C will play in an elimination final with the winners of the 2 elimination finals advancing to the quarter finals. 

The Division 1 Women's competition consists of 12 x teams who will play home and away and at central venues, with the top 6 teams progressing to the finals.

The Division 1 Youth Men consists of 12 teams who will play a home and away series with the top 6 teams progressing to the finals.

The Division 1 Youth Women consists of 11 teams who will play home and away series with the top 6 teams progressing to the finals.

The Division 2 Youth Men consists of 11 teams who will also play home and away with the top 6 teams progressing to the finals.

 

About the 2016 Molten Waratah League

The 2016 Molten Waratah League will commence on March 5th and 6th, with 7 divisions on offer, 90 teams will battle it out over 20 weeks of competition with a total of 822 games being played during the regular season.

The finals weekend will be held on the weekend of 13th and 14th August, the venue selected for finals will be announced early this year.
