Under 12 and Under 14's

Welcome to the registration page for the 2017/2018 Gold Coast Basketball Representative Season. 

Please ensure that you read through all information below BEFORE registering for trials.

To register to trial you must:

  • be a registered player of Gold Coast Basketball 
  • have played 50% of the current Gold Coast Basketball Club season
  • have a completed, signed and approved transfer form (only if transferring from another association i.e. you last played representative basketball for an Association other than Gold Coast, this may include interstate or international).

Gold Coast Basketball DO NOT ACCEPT permission to train forms under any circumstances. If you require a transfer please contact the office.

  • Have a completed, signed and approved exemption form due to injury, relocation to the city (note: if the player will miss more than one trial please contact the office)
  • not have any outstanding debts with the association or your club. A report will be done with all trialists. If anyone is found to have outstanding debts with the association or club they will be notified prior to trials.

Gold Coast enters teams in the following age groups:

Under 12 -  Born 2007 and younger

Under 14 - Born 2005/2006

Under 16 - Born 2003/2004

Under 18 - Born 2001/2002

Under 21 - Born 1998-2000

The trial structure will be as follows:

  • Parents must drop their child off to the first trial, an information session will be given for the first half hour of the trial, then you will be asked to leave the premises (no spectators allowed for the trials)
  • All Teams will be announced at the Fourth Trial

 The 2017- 2018 season has 4 stages as follows:                       

Stage 1 – Gold Coast Basketball Representative Team Trials

All trials will be held at Gold Coast Sports and Leisure Centre, Carrara, Nerang Broadbeach Rd.

Monday 2th,9th,16th and 23rd of October

4.30pm-6.00pm - Under 12 Girls, Under 12 Boys, Under 14 Girls 

6.00pm-7.30pm - Under 14 Boys 

Stage 2 – BQJBC Grading

Grading for Under 12's and Under 14's will be held on the 19th and 26 of November, All Premier League Grading is normally held on the first weekend and Southern Cup and Challenge Cup Grading is held on the second weekend.

Teams that finished in the top four of their age group two seasons ago will have automatic entry into Premier League and Southern Cup.

Stage 3 – BQJBC Season

Under 12/Under 14

The BQJBC Season for the above age group runs from 27th January - 9th of June 2018 and includes 14 games, semis and finals.  State Championships for both age groups will be held in July 2018.

Under 16's

The BQJBC Season for the above age groups runs from the 7th of October until the 17th of March 2018 and includes 14 games , semis and finals. State Championships will be held in 10-14 of January 2018.

Under 18's

The BQJBC Season for the above age group runs from the 7th of October until the 26th of November and includes 7 games, semis and finals.  State Championships will be held from the 16-20 of January 2018.

Under 21 Men

The BQJBC Season for the above age groups runs from the 7th of October until the 17th of March 2018 and includes 14 games, semis and finals.  There are no state Championships for this age group.

Under 21 Women

The BQJBC season for the above age group is run over 4 tournaments:

Round 1 - 28th October 2017

Round 2 - 11th November 2017

Round 3 - 27th January 2018

Round 4 - 3th February 2018

Quarter finals/Semis - 24th February 2018

Finals - 25th February 2018

University of Sunshine Coast Basketball January 16th – 20th  Caloundra Indoor Stadium, Meridan State College & Sunshine Coast Grammar School

2017/2018 Gold Coast Representative Season Costing

Fees for the season can be made in full or part payment option.

A $100 deposit is required along with the full uniform payment on the day when teams are selected to secure your position on the team. 

If you would like to utilise the part payment option, please ensure that the documentation (at the links below) are filled in and handed in when teams are selected.

The cost to trial for a Gold Coast representative team is $40.00 per player                                                                     

Parent/Player Handbook

Before registering to trial please ensure that both parents and players have read and understand the 2017/2018 Parent/Player Handbook and also understand and accept the terms of the 2017/2018 Parent Player agreement.

Exemptions for non qualification of Club Games

To be eligible to register for Gold Coast Basketball players must have played 50% of games in the 2017 GCJBL OR the Gold Coast Summer League (this applies only to the U12/U14 age group due to the season starting in January 2018).

Exemptions at trials

If a player is unable to attend all of the trials for their age group they are required to fill out an exemption form for each trial that they will be absent.  This will need to be approved by the association prior to the first trial.  Failure to do so will result in the player being ineligible to be selected into a team.

Player Transfers

If you require a player transfer (required if the last association that the player participated in representative basketball was NOT the Gold Coast) you must download the form and follow the instructions and the bottom of the page.  No player will be accepted to trial at Gold Coast Basketball without an approved form by Basketball Queensland.

There are severe penalties in place for any player that trials without an approved form.

Please note that Gold Coast Basketball do NOT accept permission to train forms.

Training venues are located from the Northern to the Southern end of the Gold Coast. A full list of team trainings will be available at trials and posted on the website prior to the first trial.


Gold Coast have a new uniform supplier this season, all players must purchase a new uniform, compulsory items are listed below:

Reversible Playing Singlet

Playing Shorts

Warm up shirt

Players will need to submit their uniform forms on the final day of trials.  Sample sizes will be available to try on at the fourth week of trials.

There will be range of items for purchase at a later date eg supporters tshirts, hoodies etc.
