ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY FOR JUNIOR COMPETITIONS

Gold Coast Basketball has introduced a Zero Tolerance Policy in regard to poor spectator behaviour at junior competition games. This policy is not aimed at stifling or diminishing healthy supportive cheering or the ability of all spectators and parents to enjoy the spectacle of junior sport but rather to ensure that the support is done in a manner deemed appropriate under the Codes on Conduct.

The Zero Tolerance Policy is attached for your information. On game days you will notice signage up for Conditions of Entry, the Zero Tolerance, Play By the Rules and Codes of Conduct which all attendees are to abide by.

Each game day will have a Court Controller and Referee Supervisor who are easily identifiable in orange vests who are rostered on by Gold Coast Basketball and for each individual game there will be a Court Marshall who will be in a yellow vest. The Court Marshall will be a supporter of one of the teams as outlined by Gold Coast Basketball for that week. It is the role of all of these people to ensure a safe environment is maintained for all. For full information on their role in monitoring behaviour please read the attached policy.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
