2018 GOLD COAST JUNIOR BASKETBALL LEAGUE
The 2018 Gold Coast Junior Basketball League will have a new structure in 2018. With the upcoming Commonwealth Games affecting the hiring of venues for our competition, we have had to move games to incorporate five different venues around the Gold Coast and amend playing days to cater for the competition.
All players must be registered with Basketball Queensland and Gold Coast Registration, fees are compulsory ($110.00) and be registered with a club. No players will be eligible to take the court unregistered.
Competition Venues/Nights/Competitions for 2018
Wednesday: Under 20 Men - Somerset College, 6pm-10pm
Thursday: Open Girls/U17GD1 Competition - Hillcrest Christian College, 6pm-8pm
Friday: Under 13, Under 15 and Under 17 Boys and Girls Competition- The Southport School, Tallebudgera Recreation Centre, Somerset College, Emmanuel College, Hillcrest Christian College, 5pm-10pm
Saturday: Under 9's, Under 11's - Somerset College, Emmanuel College, 8.40am-1.00pm
2018 Season News
As a result of the limited venue capacity, players will only be able to participate in one team in 2018 and this must be in their own age group, with the exception of the Open Girls/U17GD1 combined competition.
Open Girls/17GD1 is a combined competition of girls ranging in age groups from U15-U17.

The above registration has moved to 365 days of registration from the calendar year. No player will be able to participate in any games or trainings if they are not registered.

2018 Season Calendar - Season Format
A full season Calendar can be found in the attachment below (each night separated at the tabs at the bottom of the page).
Please note that there are weeks where we have limited venues or no venues available, as a result of this there are weeks inbetween rounds where games will not be played and also two split rounds (eg the 62 games that make up one round will be split over two Friday nights based on the number of courts available).
Grading begins on the 23rd of February for the Friday competition, 28th February for Wednesdays, 1st March for Thursdays and 3rd of March for Saturdays. There are four rounds of grading for all competitions except for Fridays due to a split round on the 2nd and 9th of March.
During grading the draw is only available week to week as we obviously need the competition results to compose the draw each week.
Grading ends on on the 24th of March. There are no games played during the public school holidays or the Commonwealth Games.
The regular season begins on the 20th of April for Fridays, 2nd,3rd,5th of May for all other competitions.
The draw for the season will be released in full prior to the first regular season game of the season.
The website will only display round games however the semis and finals will be played the two weeks following the end of the regular season.
There are 13 rounds to be played in the regular season, once the final ladders have been determined semi finals will begin the week beginning 27th of August. Only top four teams in each division will compete in semi finals.
All finals will be played on the same night Friday 7th of September at Carrara for all competitions except U9's and U11's which will be played on the 8th at Carrara.
