CBI - New Exciting Basketball

On Monday October 26th, Caboolture Basketball Inc held its Annual General Meeting at Morayfield Sport and Event Centre.

At the AGM some significant changes were proposed including a completely new constitution.

2016 is an exciting new start to a great new basketball future for Caboolture Basketball Inc.


The biggest wins for players and volunteers:

  • Clubs will now drive CBI's destiny
  • Players will enjoy a "new superior competition system"
  • Volunteers will enjoy volunteeringand be rewarded fortheir efforts


We will have a new modern structure that looks after both players and volunteers.



  • Clubs, now to be called Branches, will have a maximumof 10 teams to make sure players arelooked after and volunteersarenot over-worked.
  • CBI Board will now be representatives fromeach ofthe 6 new Branches (your clubs).
  • There will bem where possible, a minimum of 6teams in a competitions soyou play against a different branch for aminimum of 5 weeks - no more playing teams from your own club.
  • New Board (Branch representatives) will be overseeing the basketball competitions based on players' needs,anddecisions will be made by those closest tothe players.
  • CBI will manage finances and administration so Branch volunteers can get on with looking after their players.
  • Reduced workload and stress on volunteers.
  • A newvolunteer reward system where volunteers receive rewards based on their contributions.
  • A new open and accountable affiliation system so you can see what you are paying for.
  • A new constitution to ensure strong Branches and CBI management for the future of basketball in the region.
  • A new structure that reduces the wages bill and debt so player fees are kept to a minimum.
  • Independent teams will have a designatedboard member to oversee your competition, sofor you it is business as usual.
