DELANEY SIGNS WITH METEORETTES FOR 2019 SEASON

The Global Product Search Mackay Meteorettes are proud to announce that Alex Delaney has committed to the program for the 2019 QBL season.

After a stellar college career at St Francis College in the US, Delaney returned to Australia and played 7 Games in 2018 the SEABL Women’s competition for Sandringham averaging 9 points and 3 rebounds in 2018. Alex has recently played her first game in the WNBL with the Sydney Uni Flames after training with the WNBL team all season.

As the only senior on the St Francis program in 2018 Delaney averaged 11.4 points, 5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game during her senior year at St Francis College.

“ We are extremely excited to have Alex join the Meteorettes roster for the 2019 season.  Her ability to shoot the ball from the perimeter is a huge benefit for the Meteorettes who struggled in this area last year.  Alex is not a one dimensional player however, and we love the ability she has to get her teammates involved and also defend a number of different positions on the floor, QBL Program Manager Wade Rebetzke said.

Delaney is also extremely excited about the 2019 QBL season with Mackay and said, “ I can’t wait to be a part of the Global Product Search Mackay Meteorettes for the upcoming QBL season and hope that we can have a very successful year. I’m very excited to play under Ian and alongside some fantastic players. I have been told that the atmosphere in Mackay for basketball is something special so I can’t wait to put the Meteorette jersey on and play the game that I love. “

Alex will arrive in Mackay in February to commence preparations for the 2019 QBL season.

There will be more announcements in the near future for the Global Product Search Meteorettes as they build their roster for the 2019 season.
