WOONONA JUNIOR FC WINS IGA FUTURE SOCCER STARS PROMOTION

It was all smiles down the South Coast as local club Woonona Junior FC took out the 2014 IGA Future Soccer Stars Promotion which saw them collect a cool $10,000 grant as well as a training session with former Socceroo star John Aloisi.

Woonona Junior FC, a club with over 400 players, took out the competition as participants from the club, who kept their receipts, filled in their details online in the hope of winning such a prestigious competition were announced via the major Supermarket chain.

The notion of ‘the more nominations that IGA received, the more customers shopped and entered, the better chance of winning’ was the theme as Woonona Junior FC got its just reward.

The club’s picturesque home ground namely Ocean Park has been home to the Woonona Junior FC for over 100 years and has been one of the most active clubs in the South Coast area.

There were a handful of other NSW based clubs that were also rewarded by IGA collecting $2500 grants as part of the fifteen winning clubs from across Australia.

Southern Tablelands’ Crookwell SC, Northern Suburbs’ Lane Cove FC, Western Branches’ Grenfell Junior SC and Mt Druitt Town Rangers were all rewarded for their efforts.

IGA, who have been fantastic sponsors of Football NSW, over the years have seen its 1400 independent store owners assist in raising well over $70 million to support their local communities, charities and other worthwhile causes.

The grant money will go towards further developing clubs’ ground facilities amongst many other useful aspects of running a football club in NSW.

Football NSW wishes to congratulate all winners and would like to thank IGA for its continued support of our wonderful game.
