Football South Coast Women are proud to be supporting SAHSSI in its upcoming Charity Round

Who are SAHSSI and what do they do?

SAHSSI (Supported Accommodation and Homelessness Services Shoalhaven & Illawarra are a not for profit specialist homelessness service providing support to vulnerable women and families. This includes crisis and transitional housing and support.

What type of donations can be made?

Clubs are invited to fundraise to make a cash donation or to collect goods that would be helpful to women accessing the service.

Cash: donations can be made online through the SAHSSI website (sahssi.org.au/home/donations). Please email a copy of your receipt through to the womens council (sandee013@hotmail.com).

Goods: The types of goods that are most useful include donations towards:

Emergency Care packs – Toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, deodorant, womens hygiene products, shampoo & conditioner etc.

Toddler packs: Tooth brush, tooth paste, nappies

Food packs: Cereals, canned and packet foods with a long expiry date, sugar, tea and coffee etc.

In previous years warm pyjamas and slippers have also been well received. Any clothes donated need to be new or near new.

 

What to do with donations of goods?

The Womens Council have arranged for goods to be collected from The Builders Club carpark from 4 – 4:30, at the back entrance off Kembla Street. Members of the Womens Council will be there to assist. Contact for the day Sandy 0418679777

If you are unable to drop goods off during this period they should be dropped off during office hours at SAHSSI whose offices are now located at 63A Market St Wollongong near the court house.

 

What to do if your round is impacted by State Cup or other considerations?

If for some reason clubs are unable to do their collections or fundraising on the nominated date, they are welcome to do it on an alternate date however they will be responsible for delivering donations direct to SAHSSI.
