The Board of Southern Districts Basketball Association, recognised and playing as the Brisbane Spartans in the Queensland State League, today announced that commencing May 2017 the appointment of Mr. Peter Foster as the General Manager.
Former General Manager, Allan Ladewig, has nothing but praise for the appointment offering “The future of the Spartans never looked brighter”.
“Peter brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the program, having coached and played at the domestic, State and National levels. He has been successful in all areas and is a “futures” person with big plans along with an ability to ensure success”.
Foster has had some great mentors along the way working with Australian legends, Pat Hunt, Ian Ellis and Barry Barnes, being involved with both the Queensland and ACT State bodies as a head coach at senior and junior level. His record in developing young players is second to none.
Coming from an educational background Peter has four degrees and a Masters, recently stepping down from his position at the Headmaster of John Paul College where he oversaw a budget of $40 million while taking the college to the National Basketball Championship numerous times.
“I am very keen to be a part of the next stage in development of the Spartan family” offered Foster. “Having been a part of the club back in the eighties at the old QE11 through the transition to the Clem Jones Complex I am appreciative and respectful of what so many worked so hard to achieve”.
“Southern Districts is my home and I want only for people to have fun and enjoy as they develop and learn this great sport. I thank those who have set up such a great culture and standard for myself and others to grow from”.
