St Clair Redevelopment Demolition Launch

It was a great honour & pleasure for the Woodville Warriors to be graciously invited to take part in a media day for the demolition launch of our home, The Castle, St Clair Recreation Centre by The City of Charles Sturt. Notable attendees for the event included the Charles Sturt Mayor Angela Evans and CEO, Paul Sutton attending along with Premier Jay Weatherall and Education minister Susan Close.

It was great for the club to be invited to attend and participate in such an occasion! The City of Charles Sturt Mayor, Angela Evans and Warriors president Craig Gilbert did an interview where the Mayor commented  “We’re installing six new basketball courts as part of the new re-invention of the St Clair Recreation Centre, it was really important to recognise the old and welcome in the new with the passing over of the old floor boards to Craig”. This was a huge statement for the club as St Clair was the birth place of the Warriors all those years ago in 1980 and to be involved now, in such a significant project  the the centres transformation that will benefit the Great Western suburbs community as well as basketball in this state, provided our club with great pride!

What a great day and the start of an amazing project for so many organisations and people within our local community and of course, that helps to provide our club with a state of the art home that will allow us to grow and improve as a club!

Thanks you again to all involved, well done, Warrior Pride!
