2018 Senior and Under 18 Junior Country Championships

SA Country Basketball would like to thank all of the participating players, coaches, managers, referees and score bench officials for their support and participation in the Senior & U18 Junior Country Championships held in Adelaide on 26th – 28th January, 2018.

In particular, Beth Serle, Malcom Penno, Graham Catto, John Spooner and Elyse Hicks who managed venues, Mike Gibson, Nick Gilling, Jo Duncan and Matt Ryan for recruiting, appointing and managing the officials for the weekend with the assistance a great number of volunteers from the Associations that participated.

The work in preparation for the weekend took several weeks and we thank Beth and Elyse for their outstanding contribution and Basketball SA for their assistance.

We would also like to acknowledge the support of our sponsors; Sports Centre and Spalding. Their support allows us to maintain fees to a minimum and to use of their products to improve the quality of the event.

Thank you Titanium Security Arena and The ARC Campbelltown for their support and provision of facilities and to Sports Medicine Australia for the provision of Sports Trainers.

Most importantly, thank you to the Associations and all families for their support of the event.

An update is included below on the John Spooner trophy, with a winner to be confirmed following the under 12, 14 and 16 Championships in March. The John Spooner trophy is awarded to the Association with the most Division 1 minor round wins in the Junior Country Championships each year.
