U17 SAPPHIRES SQUAD ANNOUNECMENT

A massive congratulations to Isabella Stratford (Mt Gambier) and Hannah Hank (originally Port Lincoln) who have been selected in the squad of athletes to trial for the U17 Australian Sapphire’s team. The 2017 Australian Sapphires squad will be contesting for glory at the 2018 FIBA Asia Cup in India October 22-28. Bella recently represented SA Country and Hannah SA Metro at the U18 Australian Junior Championships.

Bella competed in the 2017 U18 Australian Junior Championships as a bottom age athlete and this squad announcement is a massive step in her development to becoming an elite athlete. Bella who started her SA Country Basketball career back in 2014 has taken some massive steps her development. She has represented SA Country at Albury five times along with at a National Championships three times. Her recent campaign in Townsville resulted in an average 12.25 points per match with a 77% conversion rate from free throws. Her achievements in basketball aren’t limited to SA Country with Bella helping Basketball Mt Gambier to the U18 SA Country Championships Division 1 Gold Medal and work with the U18 Girls Eastern Mavericks.
