VJBL Grand Final Results

From our 41 VJBL teams that started the 2011/12 season, 6 made the Grand Final on the weekend.

Of the 6 Grand Finalists, we had 3 championship winning teams.

12/4 Girls defeated Keilor 28-19

Congratulations to Carly Svent, Abby Collins, Maddison Thorne, Taylah Langeweg, Allyson Waldron, Tilly MacDonald, Eliza French and Natalie Lunardi. Coaches Tim Davis and Jessica Grisold

16/2 Boys defeated Coburg 51-45

The boys were matched in a free flowing, high scoring affair early. The Wildcats locked down a the defensive end and extended to as much as a 22 point lead in the second half. Coburg fought back well, but the Wildcat boys held tough and came away with a rewarding championship.

Congratulations to Liam Anderson, Sam Binion, Gian Festa, Patrick Lipinski, Tristan Lloyd, Tom O'Connor, Keenan Shantz, Max Stroszynski, Jack Tsaparis and Anthony Varvaris. Coaches Zoe and Greg Jeffers

16/5 Boys defeated Ringwood 3 49-44

The team that was written off by everyone but got up and won the championship! Ringwood went through the season undefeated and beat Eltham in their first final by 29 points. Even the VJBL in their previews tipped a 15 point Ringwood win for the Grand Final. A huge effort from this crew of Wildcats to pull of the unthinkable! True Eltham spirit shown in this one. Congratulations to Mitchell Brown, David Carrol, Michael Heaslip, Lloyd Hillard, Lachlan Holmes, Kyle Keenan, Matthew Kennedy, Lachlan Sewell and Bailey Van Hout. Coached by Bret Connolly

Bad luck but congratulations to the following teams in finishing Runners-Up:

12/4 Boys coached by Lyne Strmecki

16/8 Boys coached by David Hickman

18/2 Boys coached by Greg Barker
