Truman to Roll Into 2020
With over 350 SEABL/Big V/NBL1 games under his belt, Hawks veteran Nathan Truman has plenty to offer on and off the court for his teammates and Coaches. This week the Hawks announced that Truman will be back for his 6th season with the Club.
As the Hawks look to make some strides up the NBL1 ladder in 2020, Truman will again to be asked to provide that intensity off the bench that has become his trademark. Age is certainly no barrier as his energy boosts have been a huge key to the Hawks success for many years.
“Everytime we inject Truey in to the game, we know that something is going happen.” Assistant Coach Willie Weimer said.
“And that is his role for us. One game it could be to lock down someone or it could be to provide a scoring spark.”
Last season Truman averaged close to 6 points a game to go with 2 rebounds and 2 assists in nearly 20 minutes per game. Just as important as stats was his vocal leadership amongst the Hawks team that was at times very quiet in team huddles.
Truman will join his team for some pre-Christmas training sessions before the Hawks return in early February to start a big pre-season.
