FISTON OFF TO AUSTRALIAN DEVELOPMENT CAMP

"Congratulations to Fiston Ipassou of the North Adelaide Basketball Club who has been selected to attend the prestigious Australian Development Camp at the AIS in January 2018. The Australian Development Camp offers a mechanism to identify future Australian Boomers and Opals as well as assess potential scholarship holders for the Centre of Excellence. Each year only 20 talented male and 20 talented females throughout all of Australia are invited to attend.

Players are also given the development opportunity to learn under the top coaches in the country through Centre of Excellence head coaches as well as assistant coaches who will help expose the athletes to the Boomers and Opals style of play.

Fiston attended the AIS Development Camp in September 2017 and as a result of his hard work has gained selection for the January 2018 camp.

Having only played organised basketball for six months prior to joining the North Adelaide Basketball Club, Fiston improved dramatically during his two years with John Della-Pia at U14 level and the past year with Adam Todd at U16 level.

In that time he has represented South Australia twice at Southern Cross level (both times was leading scorer in the country) and this year represented SA Metro in the Australian U16 National Championships. He is a member of the SA NITP Elite program.

In addition to his individual accolades the teams that Fiston has played on at North Adelaide have enjoyed great success with John Della-Pia's teams qualifying for the Australian Club 14 Championships both years (including winning a bronze medal in 2016) and Adam Todd's U16 team qualifying for the 2017 Classics and coming runner up to Sturt.

The North Adelaide Basketball Club wish Fiston the best of luck at the Australian Development Camp in January."
