Wheelcats take down Rangers in Preliminary Final

The Be Active Perth Wheelcats have set up a rematch with the Wollongong Rollerhawks after defeating the Dandenong Rangers in tonight’s preliminary final.

The Wheelcats didn’t have it all their own way with Dandenong leading for the majority of the first and trailing 14-13 at the first break.

The Wheelcats offense caught fire in the second, led by Captain Shaun Norris, who Dandenong simply had no answers for. By half time the margin was out to 12 points and by the final change the Be Active Perth Wheelcats had extended the lead out to 20.

Dandenong were gallant, but simply had no answer for the Wheelcats spread of scoring. Shaun Norris top scoring with 32 points to go along with his 10 rebounds and 7 assists, While Cobi Crispin continued her stellar weekend top scoring for Dandenong with 16 points.

The win for the Wheelcats sets up a rematch of the 2011 NWBL grand final, and promises to be an epic.
