Star performers:

Daniel Del Toso and Ben Hodgens are the two getting it done on the scoreboard for Victoria. Del Toso has already scored more points this season than any other season at an average of 13.1ppg to go along with his 9.4 rebounds per game. Hodgens is averaging 11.5ppg and it’s his combination with Del Toso that’s making Victoria increasingly more difficult to defend.

Marcus Chiavelli is more than just an impressive set of pipes having a breakout year on court as well. In the absence of Victoria’s two Rollers representatives in Dylan Alcott and Jannik Blair, Chiavelli has stepped up playing big minutes, paving the way for the Victorian bigs while also managing to hit the scoreboard himself on occasions.

Report Card:

For Victoria, finals basketball this season largely hangs on their last four games of the season, three of which are against the Adelaide Thunder. There are must win games for Victoria if they are serious about playing finals in 2013.

Victoria’s other remaining game is against the RSL QLD Spinning Bullets, their likely semi-final matchup and it’s a matchup that would suit Victoria.

Their destiny is in their own hands. A sweep of Adelaide would all but guarantee them a finals berth and a loss in any of those games could cost them fourth spot. Adelaide will be coming for them, looking for their first win of the season so Victoria will have to be at their best.
