Sydney Metro Blues v Red Dust Heelers – Minto Indoor Sports Centre

Home court advantage might just be exactly what the Sydney metro Blues need, for putting a win under their belt this season. They flew to Perth two weekends ago, to play the Wheelcats and consequently lose to them by just under 20 points each time.

Some of the Blues junior team members were then a part of the Gold medal team at the Kevin Coombs cup that took place between the 19^th and 23^rd of April. Anderson Parker and Georgia Munro-Cook in particular had outstanding performances at the KCC, and may look to continue with their stellar form for the Blues.

This will be the fourth consecutive round of games for the Red Dust Heelers, who are sitting at the third position on the league ladder, just under the Wheelcats and Cobras.

All the games the Red Dust have played so far have been close, which is why they are ranked 3, even though they’ve lost 5 out of the 8 games they’ve played. Brad Ness, Adam Deans and Rob Pike have had significant roles in the Red Dust line up and will look at adding to that contribution over this weekend.

The last time these two teams played each other was in the Cluster round where Blues suffered a 43 point loss to the Heelers.

RSL Queensland Spinning Bullets vs Kilsyth Cobras – South Pine Sports Complex

In the first triple header of the season, the RSL Qld Spinning Bullets will host the Kilsyth Cobras, who sit 6 points ahead of them on the NWBL ladder.

Coming off two very close games from the past weekend, the Bullets will be warmed up and ready to go, especially with Tom O’Neill Thorne earning Player of the Week, and Nicholas Radovich adding significantly to their offensive attack. Both players have averaged over 20 points in the league so far.

The Cobras have rested for Round 3, and return to this round missing a few members, with a squad of 9 players. The defending champions have been in top shape though, losing only one game in Round 1 so far. Their last two games against the Red Dust Heelers, were also close ones, but the Cobras came out on top each time.

Averaging 25.17 points, and earning Player of the Week in Round 2, Tristan Knowles has been unstoppable for the Cobras. He’s also had great all round support from key members like Daniel Del Toso, Shawn Russel and Josh Allison.

Both, the Bullets and Cobras, match up really well and since it is the first time they play each this season, it is going to be hard to say who would walk away with more wins. But be sure to expect some great performances over the weekend, especially with the Bullets fighting really hard for some wins to break into the top four of the 2016 NWBL.
