NWBL on display at U18's Chamionships

The National Wheelchair Basketball League was showcased recently at the Under 18's Australian Junior Championships in Perth. The Wheelcats took on the Spinning Bullets in a fantastic display of the sport just before the Men's Gold Medal Match on Saturday April 21. The Championships also incorporated the Kevin Coombs Cup which is the Under 21's National Junior Championships for Wheelchair Basketball.

The Wheelcats dominated in front of a growing crowd to take the Bullets down 89-46. Australian Roller, Shaun Norris, proved his worth to the Wheelcats scoring a massive 32 points. The following day the Wheelcats got off to a 10 point lead in the first quarter with the Bullets fighting back hard in the second to only allow a 4 point gain and go into half time 44-30. However the home team proved too strong in the second half to end the game at 90-49.

Back on the East Coast Wollongong took on the Sydney Uni Wheelkings in Shell Harbour taking an easy win 85-34. In Dandenong the Rangers hosted Adelaide in back to back matches winning both 69-47 and 97-41.
